Short Description:

The Light Cannon 100 is made by Underwater Kinetics. This light uses a High Intensity Discharge bulb to produce light. The body of the light is ABS and polycarbonate plastic construction. It includes both a lantern style handle, pistol-grip handle, lanyard and beam diffusing filter

Remove the bezel to replace the 8 C cell batteries which will run the light for about 3-4 hours. You can also obtain a NiCad battery pack and charger for the lamp.

To use the light, pull down on the trigger lock and pivot the trigger. The trigger can be locked in the ON position by pushing the trigger guard back up.

Reviewer's Impressions:

The UnderwaterKinetics Light Cannon really kicks butt! It produces a very bright white intense light. The beam is very smooth with no annoying rings or hotspots.

This light is currently the most cutting edge handheld portable lighting device you can get. It has all the features of an incandescent (great beam "throw", very bright, smooth beam) while producing light comparable to that produced by LEDs (smooth bluish-white flood-like coverage of a surface).

It is the nature of the High Intensity Discharge bulb that it takes about 20 sec. to warm up to full brightness and you need to pause 3 seconds before turning it on again after turning it off.. This isn't really a problem, it's just the nature of the light.

When you tip the light rapidly forward the beam may momentarily change color. This has something to do with condensed chemical vapor inside the bulb falling on the HID electrode and vaporizing. Again, this is just part of the nature of the light.

Unfortunately, it is also the nature of this light to have the bulb cost $80. Don't drop this light. The bulb is quite fragile and could break as a result of a moderate drop.
