Light Type: LED
Light Class: Keychain / Pocket

Short Description:

The Impact is made by PrincetonTec and is available for purchase from PocketLights.com. They are available in assorted case colors and assorted LED colors.

The case is translucent polycarbonate with a notch in the back to allow the case to be opened clamshell-style. Opening the case reveals 2 replaceable 2016 lithium coin cells (included). The tail end of the case has a groove for the included split ring for attaching the unit to your keys or gear.

Operation is accomplished by squeezing the case. Squeeze for on, release for off. There is an on/off slide switch on the side of the case.

Output is good for a single LED and is on a par with other similar single LED pocket lights

Environmental protection is only afforded by the tight fit of the parts.

Reviewer's Impressions:

The Pulsar 2 with its constant on/off switch, is a notable improvement over the original Pulsar. There are times when you need to set your light down and still have it on, and that's where the switch comes in handy.

Fit and finish are OK. Nothing special to note.

Quality is acceptable for a little keychain backup light. The squeeze switch is a little sensitive so I would use some caution to make sure the light doesn't come on accidentally if packed. On a keychain or attached to your gear, there should be no problems.

Output is typical of just about every other single LED light driven by lithium 2016 coin cells. Again, nothing special to note.

Beam quality is again typical. A smooth white flood of light. Enough to find your keyhole or that item that dropped to the bottom of your pack.

Water resistance is minimal. Shake it off if it gets wet and keep going. Try not to get it too wet, though, or it may turn on by itself until it dries.

A decent little light for attachment to your gear to use in a pinch. Batteries are advertised to last 12-14 hours, but in reality you will probably want to change the batteries after 3-4 hours. At least you don't need a screwdriver to open the little case. Do be careful not to loose the bulb when you open it. Read the instructions carefully.
