(Lamp Module and Head - Shown installed on a Surefire
C2 tactical light)
The G&P Luxeon K2 LED modules are direct replacements
for Surefire lights using a P60 (6V) or P90 (9V) lamp
assembly. These new modules use the new Luxeon K2 7
Watt LED. This allows you to convert your high output
Surefire light to a shockproof and very bright LED light.
Note that the output from this LED module is actually
greater than the standard P60 lamp assembly!
Any light that is factory designed to take the P60
or P90 form factor (6V-9V) should accept these modules.
This includes Surefire models: 6P, 9P, G2,
C2, C3,D3, G2Z, NRA,
M2, Z3 and possibly
others I may have skipped.
Basically what we have here is a complete replacement
head which includes a glass lens, crenelated bezel ring,
reflector, a Luxeon K2 high output LED, and a polarity
protection plate on the end of the positive spring.
You can remove the LED module if you want to try to
put it in your own head, but it is LONGER than the normal
P60 module, so it won't fit quite right. Be warned!
Just replace the whole head instead..
Unlike other G&P modules, only one version is available,
but it is advertised to work on all lights that accept
a P60 or P90 lamp head assembly.
The G&P modules are by far the simplest drop-in
replacement LED modules I've worked. Remove your old
head and replace it with this one. Voila! If you want
to remove the actual LED module from the included head
and try it in your own light, simply remove the bezel
ring and drop it out of the front of the head. Remember,
the module is longer than a standard P60 and as a result
it may not fit correctly. I did notice that there is
no O-ring on the bezel end of the module head, so the
waterproof integrity of your Surefire is compromised
by using this module. Splashes are OK, but I'd avoid
dunking.

The reflector is textured just like the original P60
module to provide a smooth outer spillbeam of light
with a nice concentrated hotspot in the center. Since
the lamp assembly uses an LED instead of an incandescent
bulb, it is virtually shockproof. Feel free to beat
the snot out of your light if you wish, the LED will
be fine.
Output is in the form of a simply gorgeous spot of
even bright white light. This shot was taken with the module
installed on a Surefire C2, but the beamshot would appear
the same from any light since the head, lens, reflector
and bulb are all one unit.

Runtime completed with two cells - yes
it says P90 on the graph, but I only used two cells
for this runtime.
Runtime
completed with "Titanium"
brand batteries. More information on runtime plots is
available HERE.
The module will accept 6 or 9 volts per the packaging.
What I Liked: Good output, Easy
installation, Similar runtime to a P60, Smooth beam
What I Didn't Like: No O-ring seal
found at bezel/lens end.
Other Things I Noticed:
Conclusions: Another excellent
replacement for the P60 lamp module if you are looking
for an easy LED replacement that provides greater output
than the regular P60, with a similar runtime. Since
one of these modules only cost about as much as four
P60 lamps, and since it should never need replacing,
I don't see any reason NOT to get one for your Surefire
light from a cost-benefit perspective unless you commonly
use the light in very wet environments.
