Reviewer's
Impressions:
As stated earlier, the Eveready Economy Bright Light serves
as the "Benchmark Light" for a 2-Star rating on
FlashlightReviews.com. This means that a light that rates
2 Stars will have the same general features and/or general
quality as found in this light.
Fit and finish are acceptable. There are shavings of plastic
still attached to the body of the light, chips and scratches
visible, etc.
Quality is exactly what you should expect for a $1.00 light.
AKA: not much. Durability seems OK but I wouldn't take this
light anywhere that your life would depend upon it. Great
for looking around in cabinets, not great for hiking in the
wilderness. Construction is the absolute bare minimum necessary
to make a functioning flashlight.
Output is actually OK. The beam is full of rings, holes,
and blotches, but is rather tight and projects an admirable
distance.
Water resistance is nonexistent. It would actually probably
survive a rainstorm simply due to the tight fit of the parts,
but you'll have to dump the batteries out (and the water)
when you get inside. Let it dry and it may be OK depending
on the amount of corrosion that forms on the exposed copper
parts...
+ + + Pluses: Decent Brightness, Easy
battery change, Lightweight, Stands up
- - - Minuses: Not water resistant, Not
very durable, Poor beam quality, Very basic internal parts
may be subject to easy failure.
