This is one cool gadget! It was actually given to me
as a gift a little while ago (imagine that, friends
giving me LED lighting products as gifts!). This thing
is a little self contained dome that has 3 white LEDs,
3 colored LEDs (mine uses red LEDs) and rechargeable
batteries built in. While sitting on the base charging,
all 6 LEDs light gently to tell you it is charging and
to provide you with a nightlight. The charging contacts
are on the bottom plate. Remove it from the base (or
twist it so that the contacts are no longer touching)
and the white LEDs turn on to full brightness. Press
the switch once and the white LEDs turn off and the
colored LEDs turn on, third press turns it off. It also
detects power outages and turns on automatically when
the power goes out.
Body: The body of the unit is completely translucent
plastic except for two metal nubs on the bottom that
make contact with the wide semicircular contacts on
the charging base. The top is a clear frosted dome,
and the base and some of the internals are the same
color plastic as the color of the LEDs. Plug it in for
a nightlight glow, remove it (or twist it) for light.
Need to take a trip to the bathroom? Pick it up and
go!
Output: The light:night puts out plenty
of light when turned on for walking around in a house
at night. Flip it to the colored LEDs for a neat effect,
or if using the red model, for preserving your night
vision.
Beam at target center with close-ups.
Runtime Plot: None will be completed.
Switch: On top of the dome is the switch - press
once for white lights, a second time of colored lights,
third time for off. It makes a definite click when pressed.
Seals / Water Resistance: n/a - Indoor Use Only
Ergonomics: It is not heavy at all to carry
around and is very easy to operate.
Batteries: Rechargeable - place on the base
for 12 hours for a full charge. It can be left on the
charger indefinitely.
Accessories: n/a
What I Liked: Convenient source
of quick light. You can see where it is immediately
on the charging base because it is in "nightlight"
mode, and once you pick it up it goes to full brightness.
Power outages also cause it to turn on at full white-light
brightness.
What I Didn't Like: Nothing
Picky Little Things: Nothing
Conclusions: Extremely handy nightlight/safety
light. Great for the kid's (and the adult's) bedroom.
I use it all the time, leaving it on the nightstand
without the charger and place it on the charger only
when a recharge is needed.
